DASSAULT FALCON 2000EX
- المسافرون 12
The Dassault Falcon 2000EX has all the features that made the Falcon 2000 one of the world’s most popular super-midsize jets, along with modern enhancements including new engines and avionics.
About this aircraft
- Delivered from 2003, the Falcon 2000EX is an upgrade of the 2000 with new avionics, new engines and extra fuel capacity.
- With a 4,350-mile maximum range, it can fly non-stop from London to Dubai and New York to Los Angeles.
- Very few 2000EXs are equipped to fly 19 passengers. Most are configured for between eight and 12 people, especially for charter purposes.
- The baggage hold has space for 12 suitcases, meaning each passenger can take at least one item of luggage. There’s also plenty of storage for hand luggage on board.
- The Falcon 2000EX EASy introduced the new EASy flight deck in 2004.
- Production of the 2000EX and 2000EX EASy ended in 2009 as Dassault concentrated on the longer-range 2000LX.
The 2000EX and 2000EX EASy continued the 2000’s success, with new engines and avionics alongside the same large cabin and high performance that made the original so popular. Future upgrades like the 2000DX, 2000LX, 2000S and 2000LXS feature yet more modern touches.
Interior design
Similar to the Falcon 2000, 2000EX and 2000EX EASy have a spacious interior that’s easy to move around. The incredibly quiet cabin has an in-cruise volume of just 52 decibels, equivalent to a conversation at home or a running refrigerator.
Interiors are typically arranged into two cabin zones seating between eight and 12 passengers. The front usually features four large seats separated by a fold-away table and the aisle, while at the back there’s a three-seat divan and a four-seat dining area that converts into a double bed for night flights. At the rear there’s a spacious enclosed lavatory and a sizable galley.
Below are two typical configurations for the Dassault Falcon 2000EX and 2000EX EASy.
Interesting facts to learn before you fly
- The Falcon 2000EX wasn’t certified to fly into steep-approach airports like London City, but later models like the 2000S and 2000LXS can access the central London airport.
- The 2000EX and 2000EX EASy’s quiet cabins are a notable advantage over other private jets in the market.
- Alternative aircraft in the super-midsize category include the Bombardier Challenger 300 and 350, Gulfstream G280 and Cessna Citation X and X+.
Technological features
The 2000EX and 2000EX EASy are powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW308C engines, making the variants just as economical and even longer-range than their predecessor despite having a fuel capacity that’s 3,800 lbs heavier.
Inside, the 2000EX has a Collins ProLine 4 fully integrated avionics suite with a Honeywell EASy Avionics panel, Allied Signal GNS-XES flight management system, Collins TWR-850 Doppler weather radar and dual channel integrated avionics processor system. The 2000EX EASy’s design is almost identical, with improved pressurisation and oxygen systems and a Honeywell Primus Epic EASy integrated modular avionics suite and cockpit display system.
History
The Falcon 2000 was Dassault’s first private jet to be designed using entirely digital technology for improved aerodynamics and simplified systems. The 2000EX was introduced in 2003 with updated avionics and a longer range, before Dassault debuted the 2000EX EASy with further enhancements the following year.
Production ceased in 2009 after over 100 deliveries, as Dassault focused on the upgraded and longer-range 2000LX.
Manufacturer
Dassault Aviation’s history dates back to the dawn of aviation. Marcel Bloch (later known as Marcel Dassault) founded the company following a childhood fascination with aesthetics and innovation and it went on to become one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers.
Following the oil shock of 1973-74 and the Iranian crisis in 1979, the global economy felt the impact of rising raw material prices. Dassault bolstered its fundamentals by developing exports of civil and military aircraft against a backdrop of increasingly fierce international competition. Today, the brand holds a special place in the industry as the only global aerospace company still owned by its founding family.
Cost
The price of a 2005-2009 Dassault Falcon 2000EX EASy is $9.5-12 million (USD). Earlier models including the original 2000EX can cost $6.5-8 million.
